Is there really a secret to stress free holidays? YES!
Over the holiday season, whether you are celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwaanza, it’s so important to be able to take time for the quiet moments that allow your body and soul to feel restored, balanced and at peace.
Moments when you can step outside and breathe in the smell of fresh snow, hold a cup of hot chocolate in your hands, or simply give thanks for the beauty of natural sunlight as it pours through your windows.

Often, people are working 3 jobs during the holidays – especially single Moms and Dads.
The regular job that pays the bills, the job of cooking, cleaning and raising children once the regular workday is done and then the 3rd job: the job of preparing for the holidays – the decorating, the shopping, the wrapping, the cleaning, the card writing, the entertaining… and the list goes on.
It’s exhausting, am I right?
So what is the secret to a stress free holiday?
TASK RABBIT.
You will be amazed at how many tasks TASK RABBIT can help you with – and signing up is free. Almost EVERYTHING you would need to help you prepare for the holidays, including running your errands for you and assembling anything, is available to you through this online service.
I especially love their service offering: WAIT IN LINE. LOL!

They offer a vast array of other services, too, and best of all, when you hire someone through Task Rabbit, you know you are supporting someone in your local community who needs the income – your *tasker* – as they call them.
I hired someone through this service to put together a wheelchair I purchased for my Mom, [ after looking at the instructions and trying to DIY it by myself for about an hour and getting frustrated ] and they did a perfect job. They were on time, clean, fast, wore a mask, and they cleaned up all the trash and took it downstairs for me.
What a relief and a help they were – and they came on the same day I went online to schedule them.
For stress free holidays, Task Rabbit is a winning solution.
GIFT CARDS
What’s also wonderful? You can purchase a Task Rabbit GIFT CARD to give to someone you know who needs it, right now, as an early holiday gift.
Given that I live independently, I would LOVE to get these from Santa as Christmas gifts. Would you?

FOR SERIOUS HOLIDAY DECORATING
Although Task Rabbit says they offer, “Christmas decorating”, I would not recommend them for this.
To relieve the stress of decorating for the holidays or a holiday event, I encourage you to hire a professional interior designer or professional holiday designer like Regina Gust, whose gorgeous Christmas tree design opens this post.
Here’s another example of Regina’s stunning work, below. I love, love, love this color combination for #designhappyliving homes.
Hiring someone like Regina or another professional interior designer in your local area to help you with holiday decorating or decorating for a holiday party event, is a smart move and, once again, you would be helping to support a small, local business.
And just like Task Rabbit, almost every professional interior designer I know offers gift certificates. If you know of a Mom or Dad who needs help right now, please consider this.
And if a gift certificate option isn’t listed on an interior designer’s website, fill out their contact form and ask.

Looking at Regina’s website is a real treat if you love *over the top* fabulousness and glamour and need inspiration!
Many other interior designers I know also offer holiday decorating as a special service at this time of year.
If you’re looking to hire a luxury interior designer for holiday decorating or holiday event decorating, search https://ethosdesigncollective.com [ a search engine where you can find VETTED luxury interior designers to hire ] to see if there is a luxury interior designer in your area who offers this service and can help take the stress off of you this holiday season.

What a great post Leslie! I am very familiar with Task Rabbit. I have used them to move boxes, to clean my home, to put together something like you did, a wheelchair. They are amazing! I first learned of them when I was at my wits end. I posted I needed help on Facebook and someone recommended Task Rabbit. That’s great to know you can also hire them to stand in line for you too!
David and I cut thru all the stress today and finally dropped what we were doing and took a short walk in the park. We have it all right down the hill from us and my goal is to start taking advantage of all there is to enjoy in our own neighborhood.
And great idea to hire an interior designer to decorate!
Wishing you a lovely stress free holiday!
Hi Deb~
Thank you for such a nice comment! It’s great to know you’ve had such a good experience, too, with Task Rabbit. I think so many people could use this service right about now.
I’m glad you and David got out for a short walk in the park there in Austin. You live in such a beautiful place, and I hope the New Year brings you lots of opportunities to get out in your own neighborhood.
Have a great week ahead!
Wait in line!! I wonder how many takers THAT one gets? I’ve not used task rabbit but it is an amazing business idea and sounds like a huge help to get small things accomplished with less stress 🙂
Janet– Seriously, right How great is it that you can hire someone to wait in line for you? I had no idea they offered that service until I wrote this post..but I can only imagine how many people need that help …especially single moms and dads who have their hands so full right now.
Hey Leslie! I have never heard of Task Rabbit, I feel as though I need help with everything when it comes to Christmas right now. This blog post is the perfect reminder to outsource the little things if you can! Thanks. Leslie!
Hi Lauren ~
Task Rabbit is a tremendous service, and if it’s offered in your area, look into it. It’s been a revelation for me, personally, and as you can see from the comments here, Deb Main loves them, too.
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
That ornament is the cutest! I have used task rabbit may times in a pinch. It’s a great idea and very helpful. I have learned (the hard way) it is better to hire the most expensive task rabbit available! 😅
Hi there, Samantha, and thank you! I have many like it, but that one belongs to Regina’s client, and it’s not my own. Thanks so much for stopping in and for advising everyone to hire the most expensive *tasker* to make sure their job gets done well.
Merry Christmas to you and your family – thank you for inspiring ME with your pretty blog and home!
Leslie
I love that you tackled this topic and shared great advice on getting through this holiday season! It can be a very stressful time for many people, and your suggestions are ones I might use for the rest of the year as well! Great post Leslie!
Hi there, Amy. Thank you so much. I hope the tip to Task Rabbit will be helpful to you and all of DHL’s readers – all throughout 2022..and what I love about it is that you’re also supporting someone else in need when hiring a *tasker* to help.
What a visually beautiful post Leslie – and also great ideas for this most stressful time!
Thank you, Linda – I appreciate you stopping in..and I really enjoyed your post on Newburyport’s Christmas decorations, too. I actually started to put up some of my own today, after being inspired by your post!
Great ideas, and I didn’t know Task Rabbit will wait in line haha! That staircase garland from Ragina’s website is to die for – who knew that orange and yellow could look so “Christmasy!”
Hi Suzi! Can you believe that re: Task Rabbit’s who will wait in line for you? That was the best *find* of my whole holiday season! And I agree, I had never thought of orange and yellow as Christmas colors until I saw Regina’s beautiful staircase garland!
Happy Holidays to you and your family! Thanks for stopping in.
Leslie
This sounds like such a good resource to help manage holiday stress! Thanks so much for sharing this!
Hi Lisa ~ Good morning and thank you for stopping by to comment. Yes, it is SUCH a good resource, and not only during the holidays, but anytime you need an extra pair of hands for an install, etc!
Beautiful post, Leslie! The garland by Regina is stunning!! I always love the images you choose, and though I don’t get snow where I live, I’d love to spend Christmas wherever those photos are from… some day. A bucket list item I suppose!
I’ve never heard of Task Rabbit until now, but apparently they are active in my area, and even offer licensed handyman services for smaller projects. Given the backlog for remodeling projects, this could be a great solution for small improvements. Thanks for sharing the resource!
I’m so glad you found Task Rabbit through reading this post, Crystal. And yes, they are a GREAT resource for installations, small remodeling projects, deliveries, etc. They are THE answer for designers needing extra labor or specific help with certain office tasks.
And re: the garland that Regina created? I love it SO much, too. I’ve never seen another one like it!
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Thanks for stopping in to read, Crystal.

Such a helpful post Leslie. I don’t know what it is about this year but the whole Christmas “to do list” seems unmanageable this year to so many people. Life continues to speed up and expectations seem higher. Bottom line is that there are never enough hours in the day this time of the year. It’s hard to let go of some things but absolutely necessary in order to keep our sanity. I have not used Task Rabbit but great to know they are such a great resource.
